Update: 2021-02-07
Description
Pastor: Olu Brown
Sermon Title: Knowing and Waiting Part I
{Scripture}
Isaiah 40: 28-29 CEB
28 Don’t you know? Haven’t you heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the creator of the ends of the earth. God doesn’t grow tired or weary. God’s understanding is beyond human reach, 29 giving power to the tired and reviving the exhausted.
We Know God Is:
Everlasting (Everlasting God)
• The beginning and the end
• God’s people struggled with connection
• Stay connected in the middle
Creating (Creator of the ends of the earth)
• Beyond Genesis…
• Isaiah 43: 18-19 18 Don’t remember the prior things; don’t ponder ancient history.
19 Look! I’m doing a new thing; now it sprouts up; don’t you recognize it? I’m making a way in the desert, paths in the wilderness.
• Pondering and Wondering
• God is developing your story
Understanding (Beyond human reach)
• God knows and God understands
• You are not alone
Renewing (Power to the tired and reviving the exhausted)
• God will renew your strength
• Congressman John Lewis
"Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble."
