Kweku Okokroko, painter and writer
Description
On Fridays, I’m in love with Kweku — who thinks so deeply, connecting everything from memory and childhood play to stories of death, animals, and the world around us.
Every sentence he speaks feels like a straw of hope in these uncertain, heavy times.
Listen and dance, because there’s no way your hips will stay still once Kweku starts playing the drums!
Guests: Kweku Okokroko, painter and writer
Kweku Okokroko is a painter and writer.
Born in 1999 in Accra, Ghana, he currently lives and works in Vienna, Austria.
His practice as an artist can be described as a bridging of the various forms of arts to create simultaneous variety and unison.
His work entails a symbiosis of the literary and visual arts; through a language of text, paragraphs, lines and stanzas, accompanied with a visual stimulation of form and figure is how he explores the world around him and communicates his interpretation of it.
A broad range of topics are subjects of his work: nature, tradition, culture, identity, virtue, morality, and religion among them.
With this episode, Ženergija launches a new radio series dedicated to presenting the people, ideas, art, and activism in collaboration with the Library of Civil Disobedience.
