LGBT History Month - Pride at The Museum
Description
In this Mini Podcast Congleton Pride is proud to announce a collaboration with Congleton Museum to celebrate LGBT History Month.
We catch up with Anna Maluk from Congleton Museum and find out more about The Congleton Pride LGBT History Month POP UP Exhibition on Saturday the 18th February 2023, for one day only, as we will host a ‘takeover’ of the museum – celebrating our diversity and inclusion with an exhibition open to all.
The usual fascinating museum exhibits will be displayed alongside many of the LGBTQIA+ flags from our community as well as a few surprising exhibits that have been specially donated to the museum’s permanent collection.
There will be an evening event from 5.30 pm - open to all - which will provide visitors with a more intimate experience of the exhibition after-hours to announce a special archive project titled - ‘OUR STORY’. The project aims to collect stories and experiences to raise awareness and will be undertaken by Congleton Museum and Congleton Pride. The talk will take place upstairs with complimentary beverages and nibbles.
More will be announced about the project in the next few weeks.
