Description

How did support for same-sex marriage grow so much in a relatively short space of time? What steps did it take to have equal marriage written into law? Why is marriage equality important and what does it mean to LGBTQ+ married or engaged individuals?

In our new Ipsos UK podcast, our Ipsos UK PRIDE Network colleagues Eileen Irvin, Zac Forman, Chris Hutchings and Jessica Wrage discuss the 10th anniversary of equal marriage in the UK as part of LGBTQ+ History Month. We look at Ipsos research that sheds a light on how much attitudes have changed on this issue over the years and then look at how public support drove changes to the law.

Finally, the panel discusses their personal experiences of what same-sex marriage means to them to showcase why marriage equality is one of the defining moments of the LGBTQ+ rights movement.

Have a listen to find out why equal marriage was and remains so special.
