Self-blessing seeks comfort now;
God's blessing prepares us for purpose later.
Self-blessing focuses on what feels good;
God's blessing focuses on what produces good.
Self-blessing gives temporary satisfaction;
God's blessing brings lasting fruit, protection, favour, and guidance.
When we submit our desires, our emotions, and even our ambitions to God, He positions us for a life we couldn't build for ourselves. Denial isn't about losing, it's about making room for a greater reward than we could ever create on our own.
