Description

Opera Queensland’s latest production of La bohème is here - and we’re joined by the luminous Nina Korbe to dive into the music, the madness, and the magic. From her first time in the OQ chorus at just 15, to stepping into the fiery role of Musetta, Nina shares the full-circle journey that brought her to one of opera’s most beloved characters.

We talk La bohème vs. Rent, the thrill of standing in front of a full orchestra, and why this production finds the sweet spot between grit and grandeur. Nina also teases her next big leap — starring in The Drover’s Wife (penned by her aunt, the legendary Leah Purcell) - and what it means to tell First Nations stories on Australia’s biggest stages.

La bohème is an original co-production by Opera Queensland and West Australian Opera. Presented in association with Brisbane Festival and QPAC presents.
