Lakers Play on Regular Court, Advantage in Quarterfinals
Update: 2025-12-11
Description
The Los Angeles Lakers, currently at full strength and sitting comfortably in the Western Conference standings, will host the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Cup quarterfinals this Wednesday. The Lakers have decided to play on their regular home court instead of their special alternate court, a choice made out of an abundance of caution due to player safety concerns. The Spurs will be without their star player, Victor Wembanyama, due to a calf issue. The Lakers have won all four of their NBA Cup group stage games and are looking to advance to the semifinals for the second time in three years. Tip-off is scheduled for seven PM Pacific Time.
