As more magic tricks are revealed on the internet, a greater number of aspiring magicians seem to think that the mechanics of these revealed effects are sufficient to become a performer of magic. In our conversation, professional magician, David Devlin, and I discuss what it actually takes to become a professional magician, and where to get the tools to actually get started in one of the oldest of the arts: performance magic.
