Re. Whether industry will voluntarily restrict food dyes, first, this could well be driven by consumer preference. "No artificial dyes!" on a package, maybe accompanied by a fake certification symbol, might help drive sales. 2nd, industry might still sneak in fake colors under other names or as part of a complex set of ingredients. Kind of like saying something has "no added sugar," but loading it up with or pear or apple juice concentrate.
A question I have about the elimination diets and kids. also is what else is being eliminated. In other words, are they also cutting down on added sugars or HFCS or, I don't know, tannins or ??? Maybe they've mixed up the causation and correlation.
