Life Lessons with Chip - Answering Your Adversities
Description
Are you in a painful, confusing season of life right now? Maybe you’ve lost your job, have a conflict with a spouse or a child, or just received a sudden diagnosis. Whatever it is, do you wish there was a biblical guide to respond to adversity? In this program, Chip will share three questions you need to ask when challenges come. Discover how these prompts will get you through the most trying experiences and grow your faith.
Main Points
Three Questions to consider in times of adversity:
- How does Jesus want to use this adversity in your life for good?
- How does Satan want to use this adversity for your downfall?
- How can Satan turn a God-allowed trial into a lethal temptation?
Satan is a master in deception; his MO is built on lies about:
- God
- You
- The future
- Your faith
Dark cloud “raining” down adversities:
Satan’s filter (deception):
- Reaction: fear, overwhelmed, unfairness, where is God?
- Leads to attitudes of: anger, despair, abandonment
- End in: self-medicating, over-spending, acting out, addiction, isolation, etc.
God’s filter (truth):
- You’re not alone
- It’s intended for your good
- Attitude: big step of faith to “consider it all joy”
- Action: don’t give up (persevere)
