Linda Clifford, born on August 20, 1948, in New York, is a talented singer. From the age of seven, she performed in several television variety shows.


At 17, she won the Miss New York State beauty pageant and began singing in nightclubs.


She joined the Jerico Jazz Singers and then formed her own jazz trio, 'Linda and the Trade Winds'. In 1974, she recorded 'A Long,

Long Winter' for Paramount Records, followed by a record for Gemigo.


In 1977, she joined Curtom and achieved success with 'Runaway Love' in 1978. In 1979, she signed with RSO Records and had a hit with 'Bridge Over Troubled Water'. She continued to appear on the R&B charts with Capitol Records and the Red label. In 2001, she covered 'Going Back To My Roots' with Chris Bangs.


Linda Clifford also acted in films like The Boston Strangler and Coogan’s Bluff before focusing on her music career. She released six albums under Curtom Records and collaborated with Curtis Mayfield and Isaac Hayes.


In 2015, she collaborated with Martha Wash and Evelyn King on 'Show Some Love', reaching the sixth spot on the Billboard Dance Charts.
