Architect Lindsey Wikstrom is the founding partner of Mattaforma. She has taught at Columbia GSAPP, Yale School of Architecture and other places. She has written about forestry and biogenic materials for urban use. Lindsey’s book Designing the Forest and other Mass Timber Futures (2023) explores the potential of mass timber for architecture, forests and the planet. 



The conversation ranges from the connection between local forests and new buildings, the transformation of the construction site, and new rituals of building care, to learning from indigenous practices, a global wood commons and the future of her own architecture practice.
