Linear
Update: 2019-04-01
Description
Kind of a riff on the black box theory of linguistics (not that I've read much Chomsky!), this one kind of tumbled out of the mind/voice when I pondered Ableton Live's "Follow Action" feature, which allows for random scrambling of audio after "warping" and "slicing" to MIDI. Truth be told! Something, at least, for April poetry fools.

Why do our words still
flow out of our mouths
in some linear fashion?
My no precedes your yes
like a [reverse] caravan
but doesn’t have to
My yes could just as easily
follow your no
My vice after your versa
Why don’t we speak
all words at once
all words at once
all words
all words at once
all words
Either big bang
or fiery crashing
I have a Borg Cube in my chest
before I utter a word
now a ball of yarn in front of my mouth
a hairball of words
