Point #4 is the real issue here – Put Women In Church Leadership

• Ask Pope Francis to restore women to the ordained diaconate, to include women as voting members at meetings of the synod of bishops, to reopen the discussion of women’s ordination, and to name women as cardinals at the next consistory and at every consistory going forward until a balance is achieved.

Here is the prayer they want you to say: “That from this community of gathered people will rise a new church:  a church that protects the abused and the marginalized, ministering to all in search of healing; a church that strives continually to overcome every type of discrimination, whether social or cultural, whether based on gender, race, color, social condition, sexual orientation, language or religion, in order to pave the way for a new future of joy and hope . . . we pray to the Lord.

• Question: “What is Coptic Christianity, and what do Coptic Christians believe?” Answer: “Coptic” means “Egyptian,” and Christians living in Egypt identify themselves as Coptic Christians. As a denomination they originated in the city of Alexandria, one of the most faithful, respected, and fruitful cities during the Apostolic Period. Proudly, the Coptic Christians acknowledge and herald John Mark, (author of the Gospel of Mark), as their founder and first bishop sometime between A.D. 42 – A.D. 62. The Coptic Church was actually involved in the very first major split in the Church, well before there was such a thing as “Roman” Catholicism, and it was also well before the East/West split.


• What is missing at the USCCB this year? The well sculpted men that used to parade about hanging out with the Bishops.


• Mass is NOT penance. Mass and penance is NOT the same thing.


• We are talking about sacrilege on a massive scale here.


• They usually do these Bishop meetings in private for a reason.


• These men have been exhausted to a higher leadership role. They are supposed to represent the faith.


• Example: professional sports when they meet the media after what do they wear? They shower and they put on the suit.

• Behind closed doors, many of the bishops are furious at being asked to put their names to a document some see as a hollow PR gesture. Some have privately noted that, far from sending a message of contrition, it confirms the worst fears of Catholics: that as a body their leaders need to have the basic moral tenets of their office spelled out for them.
