Livestock futures opened lower on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, with lean hog contracts leading the declines. The December 2025 lean hog contract settled at $227.55, down $1.28 from Tuesday. Nearby February and April contracts also dropped. Live cattle futures showed similar softness, with the January 2026 contract trading to $343.73, off $0.90. Trading volumes were lighter than Tuesday, with estimated sales at 11,796 contracts for hogs, 2,475 for live cattle, and 10,612 for feeder cattle. Open interest shifted slightly, with hogs down 728 contracts, cattle up 59, and feeders adding 5,384.
