Description

The Sanhedrin had two rounds of hearing from Paul. The religious persecution of Jews was beyond comprehension of the commander. He wanted to know the truth by flogging Paul in the previous chapter. He brings him before them the second time. After Paul shouted: "I am a pharisee, son of a pharisee. I am bound the sake of the resurrection of the dead" etc. It divided the crowd which partly helped Paul. But, to save him being torn by the two rival groups, he was taken into the barracks for Paul's safety.
