Despite injuries to key players, the Magic managed to win their last two games, including a victory over the Portland Trail Blazers. The Hornets, despite recent momentum, have struggled on the road, losing six out of twelve games. The Magic have won five straight against Charlotte, and with injuries affecting both teams, Paolo Banchero and LaMelo Ball are expected to lead their respective teams. The Magic aim to secure their first back-to-back December victories, potentially widening their Southeast lead.
