Why do you think a lot of times when you decide to get really serious with Christ?

People in your family, our friends, don't like it.

Because if they're not willing to make that same deep commitment, now all of a sudden,

the choice is that you're going to make or going to convict them and they don't want

that conviction.

So it's easier to just get mad at you and try to keep you from doing it.

I can tell you the truth.

If you're going to really follow God for your life, if any person here or anybody watching

by TV, if you're really going to be led by the Spirit, what you're going to find out tonight

is the center core of the New Covenant.

Every person who receives Christ lives under a New Covenant.

The law is finished and we can each one be individually led guided by the Holy Spirit.

We can hear from God.

We don't have to ask 25 other people what we should do every time we want to make a decision.

It's amazing how we try to take things away from people that they like just because we don't

My husband has always really loved sports and I grew up in a family where I was never allowed

to go to ball games or stay after school for anything and my father never liked any kind

of sports and so we never watched any of them on TV and I just didn't like them and so

because I didn't like them, I didn't want days to like them and it's terrible the way that

we try to manipulate and control people to get them to do what we like and it's just

not God's will.

We're all different.

We all like different things and the best way to have a good marriage is to appreciate

the differences in the person that you're married to and stop trying to make them be

like you.

Now the Bible does say there's safety and many counselors but ultimately you need to make

your own decision.

I don't think there's anything wrong with if you're having a difficult time making a

decision or you really maybe want to make a serious decision you want to make sure that

you're doing the right thing.

I don't think there's anything wrong with saying can I run this past you and what do you think

but I can tell you if you ask 10 people you may get 10 different opinions and a lot of
00:03:50
times we ask people what they think we should do and the truth is we're asking people that
00:03:54
don't even know what they're doing.

At least if you're going to ask somebody it needs to be somebody that you respect and

you thought the thing through do I respect their life do I see good fruit in their life

do I really think this is somebody that I'm willing to listen to.

But a lot of times we're unsure and we're really just looking for a bunch of people to agree

with us.

So we just start what do you think what do you think what do you think what do you think

then all of a sudden we're all confused and we end up not doing what was really in our

heart to start with so if you're going to get advice then make sure that you get it from

somebody you really want to take advice from but even then if you really feel something

strongly in your heart and you've prayed about it and there's nothing about what you're

going to do that's against scripture ultimately you must follow your own heart well then the

question always comes up well what if I'm wrong well then you'll be wrong and it won't

be the end of the world and God will love you and you'll at least learn oops I won't

do that again.

We are too afraid of making mistakes and many times we're so afraid of making a mistake

that we won't follow our heart unless 25 other people agree that it's the thing that we

should do and more than likely they're not going to especially if there's nothing in it

for them and I don't mean to be mean about it I mean it's just true you know true counseling

true counseling real counseling good counseling leads you to God it doesn't try to run your

life if you come and ask me what you should do in a situation unless I've got a very clear

cut scripture to give you I'm going to take you here from God because that's what people

need to learn how to do once again the whole beauty of the new covenant is each person

can be individually led by the Holy Spirit.

You can hear from God you can be led by the Holy Spirit you have an anointing which is

the presence of the Holy Spirit in your life that will let you know when something is right

or wrong for you and your family and and you shouldn't have to go around giving unreasonable

amounts of explanation for what you feel led to do I don't think there's anything wrong

with giving a word of explanation to try to keep down confusion but maybe you don't know

why you feel like you're supposed to do that all you know is you really sense inside persistently

that that's what you're supposed to do well that should be enough for people hey I've

come to the point I'm not into trying to control anybody anymore I don't want it I got

enough business of my own to try to manage I don't need to manage yours but a lot of

years in my life I was not like that and I think some people get a kick out of everybody

asking them what they should do and then spend another time trying to tell them what to do

I don't want that responsibility I'm going to tell you you can hear from God trust yourself

what do you feel like that you should do what are you sensing from God the Bible says

follow peace hearing from God is not that difficult don't do it if it's against the word don't

do it if it's stupid the Bible doesn't tell you what to buy or not to buy but it tells

you that not to be in debt so therefore don't go buying something you can't afford that's

simple let's look at Colossians 315 I've decided I'm going to enjoy myself tonight and

I can tell you if you don't need this message right now the time will come when you will

let the peace which is harmony in your soul that comes from Christ rule and act as an umpire

continually in your heart now if you like any kind of ballgame you know what an umpire

is they have got authority if they say it's in it's in and if they say it's out it's

out and I think that's an interesting example the amplified Bible gives because it's saying

if you have peace it's in if you don't have peace it's out let that peace decide and settle

with finality every question that arises in your mind and in that peaceful state to which

God has called you continue to live be thankful and give praise to God follow peace you can

hear from God you're going to hear me say that many many many times tonight because you

know what a lot of people don't really believe they can they wish they could they wonder

if they can they hope they can but they're halfway afraid that they don't sooner or later

you have to trust yourself with God and you have to say God I want to hear from you I don't

want to do anything that's outside of your will therefore I am going to trust you to speak

to me and I'm going to trust myself with you and believe that I can hear from you some of you have

got some really strong godly desires right now and you've been so afraid to follow them and even if

you've tried you've gotten disapproval or weird looks from two or three people so you sit around unhappy

and unfulfilled just because you want to keep everybody else happy and quiet first down to 27 but as for you

and that's you you you you as for you the anointing which is what it's the presence of God it's the

ability from God to do a thing the anointing the sacred appointment the unction I like that word

"unction" it's like the holy ghost "unf" say God has given me an "unction" to do this I didn't even start

this ministry till I was 42 years old it is unbelievable what God can do through you if you'll fight

your way through all the mess that comes against you and just say if God said I can I can and I'll

tell you something else when God speaks something to you that you're not sure you're going to have to be

willing to lose your reputation to step out and try because as long as we stay in the little boat

floating around with everybody else we're acceptable and everybody's happy but when you start rocking

the boat or getting out of the boat or trying to do something that's not the norm then everybody starts

blah you have an anointing you have an "unction" you've got a holy ghost "unf" in your life for something

and it'll motivate you and energize you and give you a desire how does God call you to do

something the only thing I can say is when God called me I have had an overwhelming desire to do

this from that day until this just a desire just a strong desire and so maybe some of you just I

don't know maybe you just have this strong desire to help people well then that's a ministry gift of

helps God is calling you to help people we get all kinds of different gifts maybe you have a strong

desire strong desire to own your own business then don't spend your whole life working for somebody

else get out and try it well what if you don't work then don't work go back and get a job I honestly

believe that it's much better to step out and find out than it is to stay hidden in the closet all

your life and wonder can I say it again I think it's much better to step out and find out that to hide

in the closet all your life and just wonder we're too afraid to make a mistake it's not the end of the

world if you make a mistake his anointing abides in you I want you to feel powerful when you leave

here tonight I want you to hold your shoulders back and hold your head up and say God is living on

the inside of me I'm his child I'm anointed I can hear from him I can be glad by the whole it goes

not this wimpy cowardly well what do you think I should do well

I know what what do you what if I do this do you think everybody will think I'm weird maybe

maybe a lot of people think I'm weird but a whole lot more people love me you got to get over who

thinks you're weird sometimes they think I'm weird and God grabs them anyway

like the guy that I told you about there was high on drugs and accidently ran into my program in

the middle of the night and he laughed at me and thought she's right who does she think she is

another guy has given us a testimony it's been on television we'll probably on again

a wonderful Jewish man started I didn't believe in Christ shopping in Barnes & Noble knocked over a

table of books came out of the pile trying to pick him up with my battlefield of mind book in his hand

turned it over took a look at me had an immediate attitude

started reading a little bit of it but it snucked in the house so his Jewish wife didn't know he's

reading a book by Christian author thanks for listening James 1.5 encourages us that if we desire wisdom

we need only ask God and it'll be given so what are we waiting for it begins with trust trusting him

opens the door to his leading as we make the journey with God and his word we'll discover that no

matter how big or small the issue he is ready to help guide us as we learn to make right choices
