For singer, songwriter, and environmental advocate Samuel J, it all started when, as a little boy, he looked at his hand and realized his hand was one in the same as a leaf on a tree. At a young age, he recognized the interconnectedness between all living beings on the planet and so has dedicated his life to help others achieve the same awareness. On this episode, Samuel J shares the ways he helps to reconnect disconnected people and how he finds wealth through passion for his work, whether that’s performing his music across the globe, empowering kids through surfing or music with The Young Elders project, or going on oceanic expeditions with marine wildlife conservation groups, such as Blue Sphere Foundation and Sea Shepherd. For Samuel J, consciousness is not a label but a state of mind. He also gifts us with an impromptu performance of his original song for The Space Between.
