“Honor your father and mother” is the first command with a promise, yet often the hardest to practice. Honoring means accepting parents’ flaws, appreciating them before it’s too late, and affirming them through presence, not just provision. What aging parents long for most isn’t money, but connection. Give them flowers while they can still smell them, and discover the peace that comes from honoring God’s design for family.
