“if we truly want a world that everyone is welcomed and included, we can not diminish the parts of ourselves that we are worried others are going to judge in a certain way.”

she talks about this common idea that she dealt with and hears pretty often from others when she/ we say

“I am so privileged, but look at this thing though, so I’m really not privileged/ powerful. The reality is you can have certain privileges and power and other times you do not have power or privilege in other social identities”

“really understanding it, self hatred, power and privilege; in ourselves helps us refine the art of calling in

“if this work is not joyful then folks will not stick around”
