In the midst of this utterly normal, nothing out of the ordinary day, Abraham, God is telling a new story. And it begins with you and Sarah. And the people who come after you, the people who claim you as their father either through blood or through belief, they will share in your blessing. They will reap the reward of God coming to you and making this covenant. They shall be beloved and blessed, chosen and cherished. And they will learn to tell your story. Because your story is the story of God doing what God does best: making a promise and keeping it.
