Tragic Crash in Sandpoint: A Local Man Lost in a Fatal Collision with a TrainOn December 28, 2025, a 63-year-old Sandpoint resident driving a white 2008 Nissan Titan was involved in a fatal crash with a Burlington Northern Santa Fe train at the intersection of West Selle Road and North Boyer Road. The driver, not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The train crew applied emergency brakes, but the collision resulted in the vehicle being pushed off the roadway.
