Samuel Mittler, a 40-year-old from Tonasket, was shot and killed by law enforcement on December 19th. He was wanted for two counts of second-degree assault and intimidating a public servant. Officers from the U.S. Marshals Service and Washington State Patrol SWAT team approached his home, leading to a confrontation where Mittler was killed. The Snohomish County Medical Examiners Office confirmed his identity, and a family liaison has been assigned to keep relatives updated.
