Marla Johnson is the development director for Art From the Streets. She explains how her drive to serve led her to work for nonprofits, connect with the unhoused and build lasting friendships within this community.

Art from the Streets is a nonprofit based in Austin, Texas. The mission of AFTS is to provide a safe and encouraging environment in which the positive spirit and creativity for those experiencing homelessness are nurtured through their own artistic expression. Because focusing on housing alone does not achieve other equally important goals that
are relevant and motivating to improving and sustaining a quality of life.

Original artwork is for sale in art shows throughout Austin, Texas. At these shows in the community the artist receives 95% of sales. Artists receive 60% of the final price of online artwork and merchandise sales. Shop online at Art from the Streets!
