Martha is a Registered Nurse for people with Intellectual Disabilities (RNMH) and holds a B.Sc.Hons Degree in Social Work specialising in working with Person Centered Planning with People with Intellectual Disabilities and Older Persons. She also completed her Higher Diploma in Learning Disability studies at UCD.
Martha’s practical experience has been in Disability and Older Person services. In tandem, she has a strong clinical and managerial background, with emphasis on effective Care Planning, Managing difficult behaviour, Person Centred Planning, Project Management, Team-Building, Policy and Procedure
development, Supervision Skills and Leadership Skills. Her career to date has been working with People with complex needs, Intellectual Disabilities, Challenging Behaviour, Autistic Spectrum Disorder and Superimposed Mental Illness and their families. Martha also holds a Degree in the Professional Management of Violence and Aggression from Dundalk Institute of Technology.
Martha McGinn, Training & Consultation has been set up to design and deliver high quality evidenced-based training to caring services for older persons and adults with intellectual, physical and or sensory disabilities. The training programmes aim to prepare staff to comply with the relevant standards within the National Quality Standards for Residential Care Homes or the National Disability Authority Standards.
