On the mountain, Peter, James, and John are given a glimpse of Jesus’ unveiled divine glory. They see Him with Moses and Elijah, showing that the Law and the Prophets point to Christ. As the Father commands, "Listen to him," Jesus is revealed as the fulfillment and final Word. This glimpse of divinity is paired with His earthly authority as He heals a demon-possessed boy and provides the temple tax, demonstrating the Son of God is Lord over all things, spiritual and temporal.
