Obesity is a chronic disease that affects approximately two out of five adult Americans. Among children and adolescents aged 2-19, approximately 16% are overweight and 19% are obese. By 2030, it is estimated that half of adults in the United States will be obese. On this episode of Clinical Pearls, we are joined by Brittany Nguyen, a women’s health nurse practitioner who is a graduate of the UAB School of Nursing and currently works in a women’s health clinic that also specializes in weight loss management. She joins to enlighten us on the emergence of prescription weight loss industry.
