Today I have the pleasure and honor to welcome two members our community who help facilitate the comfort and care of those less fortunate by way of the Friends of the Poor in Scranton Pennsylvania. The Friends of the Poor was founded in 1986 by Sister Adrian Barrett, IHM. Though she has passed, Sister Adrian’s legacy is long lasting. For 31 years Friends of the Poor has attempted to fulfill the basic needs of individuals—food, clothing, furniture, and household items—and provide social and cultural opportunities for those who might otherwise not have them. Today our guest are Linda Robeson and Meghan Loftus. Linda and Meghan are leading a group of committed volunteers in response to the needs of children, their parents and senior citizens.
