Men, Save Yourself From Drowning with Avy Schondorf
Description
For this episode I’m joined by entrepreneur, founder and podcast host Avy Schondorf, who discusses her journey that inspired her to help drowning men. Yes, Avy is a lifeguard, but that's not the type of saving we discuss!
A lot of the drowning experience comes from Avy’s belief that if you have a big ego, it is difficult to ask for help, which most times is a barrier that is present without us even knowing it’s there.
Her journey thus far inspired her to create her business called Alisto, which helps you build everything you could ever need to start a business and make it sustainable. To do this, Avy and her team use a ‘Distant Assistant’ model (love that term).
Avy believes that people want to care in life, but they just forget because they're too busy, which was a key inspiration behind the packages that Alisto offers.
Avy believes that work should energize, not extract, that your people were hired for their brains, not their inbox, and that delegation isn’t a luxury - it’s infrastructure.
Key takeaways:
- People often overlook those who are struggling.
- Everyone is saying the same thing and they're saying 'I'm lonely'.
- Compassion is the opposite of anger.
- It's not your wife, it's not supposed to be her job.
- You need external help.
