Reflection Questions

1. Can you think of a time when someone has shown mercy to you, making things better for you when something in your life was hard?

2. How did Jesus show mercy to people around Him during His earthly life? 

3. Look at Acts 2:42-47. How did the earliest church practice mercy within their community?

4. What do you know about how New Song is seeking to practice mercy in our city and in our world?

5. Take a minute to think about the Gospel truth that Jesus became poor in order that we might become rich; what kind of motivation does this give you as you consider all the needs you are aware of in the world?

6. What’s one way this week that you can make life better for someone you know where things are hard right now?

Acts 2:42-47

42 And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers. 43 And awe came upon every soul, and many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles. 44 And all who believed were together and had all things in common. 45 And they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need. 46 And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, 47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.
