The following Psalms are read
Psalm 85 1 You have been favorable to our land, O LORD; * you have restored the fortunes of Jacob. 2 You have forgiven the iniquity of your people * and covered all their sin. 3 You have withdrawn all your fury * and turned away from your burning anger. 4 Restore us again, O God of our salvation, * and put away your anger toward us. 5 Will you be angry with us forever? * Will you prolong your anger to all generations? 6 Will you not revive us again, * that your people may rejoice in you? 7 Show us your faithful love, O LORD, * and grant us your salvation. 8 Let me hear what God the LORD is saying, * for he will speak peace to his people, his saints; but let them not turn back to folly. 9 Surely his salvation is near to those who fear him; * that glory may dwell in our land. 10 Steadfast love and faithfulness meet together; * righteousness and peace kiss each other. 11 Faithfulness springs up from the ground, * and righteousness looks down from heaven. 12 Indeed, the LORD will give what is good, * and our land will yield its increase. 13 Righteousness goes before him * and will make his footsteps into our pathway. † Composite Psalm 71 1 In you, O LORD, I have taken refuge; * let me never be put to shame. 2 In your righteousness, rescue me and deliver me; * incline your ear to me, and save me. 3 Be to me a rock of refuge, * to which I may continually come; 3 you have given the command to save me, * for you are my rock and my fortress. 4 Deliver me, O my God, from the hand of the wicked, * from the grasp of the unrighteous and ruthless man. 5 For you are my hope, O Lord; * O LORD, my confidence from my youth. 6 I have leaned on you from before my birth; you brought me out from my mother’s womb; * my praise is continually of you. 7 I have become a portent to many, * but you are my strong refuge. 8 Let my mouth be filled with your praise, * that I may sing of your glory all the day long. 9 Do not cast me off in the time of old age; * forsake me not when my strength is spent. 10 For my enemies speak against me; * those who watch for my life consult together 11 saying, “God has forsaken him; pursue and seize him, * for there is none to deliver him.” 12 O God, be not far from me; * O my God, make haste to help me. 13 May my accusers be put to shame and consumed; * with scorn and disgrace may they be covered who seek my harm. 14 But I will hope continually * and will praise you yet more and more. 15 My mouth will tell of your righteousness, and of your acts of salvation all the day long, * though their number is past my knowledge. 16 I will go forth in the strength of the Lord GOD; * I will remind them of your righteousness, yours alone. 17 O God, from my youth you have taught me, * and to this day I declare your wondrous works. 18 So even to old age and gray hairs, * O God, do not forsake me, 18 until I proclaim your might to the next generation, * your power to all those to come. 19 Your righteousness, O God, * reaches the high heavens. 19 You who have done great things, * O God, who is like you? 20 You who have made me see many troubles and calamities * will revive me again; 20 and from the depths of the earth * you will bring me up again. 21 You will increase my greatness * and comfort me again. 22 Also, I will praise you with the harp * for your faithfulness, O my God; 22 I will sing prai Comments In Channel |
