Minisode: The Recorder
Description
Haha, this was a minisode on the Patreon but it’s also sorta plot relevant. So, here we are.
MUSIC: Sticky Bee instumental by Josh Woodward
Script: KERYTH: Hello? Is this thing on? Can anyone hear me? Hellllooooo?
RION: How would people answer?
KERYTH: Uhm-
ELAS: Did you try changing the batteries?
KERYTH: Duh! But the battery in it still works on the remote so I don't think changing it matters.
ELAS: Then maybe you need to go out and get it fixed!
RION: There's no electronics store in Ylelmore.
ELAS: Really?
KERYTH: I think Mr. Eldar can fix some of that stuff but-
RION: Yeah.
KERYTH: Anyway, we did! We drove all the way into the city, but when the guy behind the counter opened it up he took one look at the inside and said "I can't help you".
ELAS: What? Why?
KERYTH: Cause there's no wires and junk. It's just sorta empty with a bunch of stuff carved into the plastic.
RION: Grandma Otho-
KERYTH: Yup! So they can't help!
ELAS: What about your moms?
KERYTH: Mom's bad at this sort of stuff and Mama says she thinks I can handle it.
ELAS: So… why did it stop working?
KERYTH: Uh, well, the battery, I think.
RION: The battery broke it?
KERYTH: I think. Cause it didn't have batteries before but I put one in because it has a place for a battery, right? But I don't think it needs one. And mama's been changing it out, because she didn't want it to die, but see this?
RION: See what?
KERYTH: THIS!!
ELAS: That tiny scratch?
KERYTH: Yeah, it goes just a teen tiny bit too far and runs into THIS.
ELAS: I didn't know you could make a magic circle that small
KERYTH: Grandma could!
RION: Is that what your recorder uses instead of electronics stuff.?
ELAS: Is that easier than just buying a recorder.
KERYTH: Definitely not!
RION: Then why did she do it?
3.
KERYTH: I dunno, but I think... When mama was changing the batteries the spring thingy scratched the plastic and I think that's why it stopped working!
ELAS: What about now?
KERYTH: I dunno. Uhm-
