Molly of Denali episode highlights Indigenous cultures, features Shoshone story: The popular PBS Kids series introduces viewers to diverse Indigenous communities through Mollys journey, with a special episode featuring a traditional story from the Agai Dika Shoshone, Sacajaweas people. Rose, a great-great-grandniece of Sacajawea, shares her ancestral knowledge and becomes the voice and likeness for the character Gagu Rose. The episode showcases the Shoshone-Bannock peoples ancient accounts of volcanic eruptions and preserves the Shoshone word for grandmother, Gagu. Rose hopes to inspire viewers to recognize the power and wisdom of Indigenous ancestral knowledge.
