Description

(Re-upload. This aired 2021.) In this solo episode of Sitting with Sam, Sam sits down.....by himself. He discusses motivated reasoning, what it is, why we all do it, and why we always assume that we are right, even if we are in fact not. Sam attempts to answer questions such as: How do you escape ideological thinking? What causes people to think incoherently? What can you do about it? Sam is far from an expert, on anything really, (so cut him some slack) but he tries to approach this subject by borrowing wisdom from Julia Galef and other thinkers.
