00:00:00
Hey, everybody.
00:00:01
What's going on?
00:00:02
Rob Cesternino, uh, back here.
00:00:05
One night after the survivor finale to talk about a brand new show that just dropped on Amazon.
00:00:11
Uh, prime, uh, the highly anticipated beast games is here, and here with me to talk about our thoughts on episodes one and two of beast games.
00:00:20
It's, uh, a guy who's the beast of covering the live feeds.
00:00:26
It's Taren Armstrong.
00:00:28
Taren, how are you?
00:00:30
Rob, I'm, I'm sitting here on a YouTube channel.
00:00:32
What about to talk about the beast games in this chat?
00:00:37
There are 2,000 people and we are going to be eliminating them one by one.
00:00:42
If it, well, I hope not.
00:00:43
I hope not.
00:00:44
I hope to tell your friends, tell your friends to show off.
00:00:46
So this slowly just dropping off because of our Mr.
00:00:48
Beast impression.
00:00:49
Yes.
00:00:49
Okay.
00:00:50
And, uh, nobody in the chat is going to get any money from us, but hopefully you'll get some knowledge.
00:00:56
As we have watched, uh, the two episodes that dropped today on Amazon Prime of beast games.
00:01:02
And, uh, like, I think we, like, we heard about beast games for a while.
00:01:07
We knew there was going to be a lot of people.
00:01:08
There was going to be a lot of money.
00:01:09
And so finally, we get to see the vision of Mr.
00:01:13
Beast.
00:01:14
And I think we'll have some interesting things to talk about what's going on here.
00:01:18
Because I would say it is like nothing else.
00:01:21
I've ever watched on television.
00:01:22
But it is like a lot of Mr.
00:01:24
Beast videos.
00:01:25
It is very much like a lot of Mr.
00:01:27
Beast videos.
00:01:28
I think the closest comparison is obviously going to be, uh, Squid Games, the game, or whatever it was called.
00:01:33
The challenge.
00:01:34
Yeah.
00:01:34
The challenge.
00:01:35
Um, and, uh, but, but even then it's definitely a different style, uh, which is much more of like the YouTube Mr.
00:01:43
Beast style.
00:01:44
Uh, and yeah, it's very, very interesting.
00:01:47
Yeah.
00:01:48
All right.
00:01:48
Well, we will get into all that.
00:01:50
Taren, how have you been?
00:01:51
I'm doing well, you know, just, uh, I'm still recovering from a little bit of an illness, a little bit of a caught, caught a little bit of a cold or something.
00:02:01
Oh, yeah.
00:02:02
But, you know, all right.
00:02:03
Well, hopefully, uh, you're feeling good as, uh, we talk about beast games, uh, which dropped today.
00:02:10
And of course, you know, Mr.
00:02:11
Beast is always in the news.
00:02:14
Uh, not a ton of great press, uh, out there about, uh, beast games so far.
00:02:19
But, you know, we're not really here to get into all of that.
00:02:22
We're here to talk about, uh, our thoughts as, uh, the reality TV experts.
00:02:26
I mean, Taren is even one of the tastemakers on our scripted TV podcast network.
00:02:31
So here to give you a little review of, uh, what we think about what's going on over, on beast games where over one, uh, it seems like on YouTube, they, they started with 2,000 people.
00:02:42
Did you, did, did, did get to see any of that, Taren?
00:02:44
I did.
00:02:45
So this was a little confusing because I, I watched the two episodes and then I saw on YouTube, there was another one that was like the same thing, but different.
00:02:54
And so that was actually, uh, like a precursor episode with 2,000 contestants.
00:02:59
In the 20 minute YouTube video, he whittles it down to 1,000 and then those 1,000 went and competed on the actual show, which is also interesting because what I discovered is that, uh, I believe most of the complaints that you've seen the controversies around in this show,
00:03:14
uh, I believe we're surrounding that portion, that YouTube video that was filmed in Las Vegas and then the Amazon filmed show, which filmed later.
00:03:23
Yeah.
00:03:24
Okay.
00:03:24
Um, so in interesting, uh, so this one starts with 1,000 people.
00:03:30
Um, but it's, it's very interesting, uh, what Mr.
00:03:33
Beast is going for here.
00:03:35
Like he does really love this idea of like, we, we start with all of these people.
00:03:40
Like a lot of the videos are like 100 people, you know, um, you know, this is a, starting with 1,000 people.
00:03:48
One of them is going to win, uh, this huge sum of money, but it's so different than almost everything else that we watch in reality TV, where it's like these 12 people,
00:03:59
these 16 people, these 18 people, the shows start with like, they hand pick, uh, these people that we're going to focus on, where this is, is really, you know,
00:04:09
we don't really focus on any of the people.
00:04:12
Yeah, it's, it's so antithetical to the way that reality television is often, uh, portrayed and, and the way that they tell their stories.
00:04:20
Um, one of the things we talked about when we were initially talking about this concept, the one Mr.
00:04:25
Beast announced that this show is going to happen, something that he talks about was his lack of like, after the fact confessionals, um, does more like in the moment confessionals.
00:04:34
All of these contestants have individual cameras designed for them that they can talk to in the moment that they might cut to, but there's nothing from them after the fact being like,
00:04:44
so I walked into the warehouse, um, and that gives such a different feel to what's happening on top of the fact that even in something like Squid games,
00:04:55
uh, the challenge, um, when there were 400 plus contestants, we would get confessionals and then we would also throw out the season, get these sort of like backstories and,
00:05:06
uh, like, stuff like that.
00:05:08
None of that's happening here.
00:05:10
There, these people are literally numbers and faces.
00:05:13
Numbers and faces.
00:05:14
And honestly, like we, we have not like followed the story of any of the players on Beast Games through two episodes where, you know, in Squid Games, the challenge, you've really got to know,
00:05:24
uh, like not all 456, but there was probably like, you know, 20 to 30 players that you really, uh, got to know their story well, like, you know, Tray and Leanne and,
00:05:34
you know, a bunch of other folks that we really, like, and maybe we will eventually, like maybe when this thing gets down to, you know, 40, 30 people, like we'll come to really know these people and it's just like not time yet to get to know these people,
00:05:50
but it's interesting that there is not like one character that really, we, we know particularly well, maybe save for like a couple of people that were the captains,
00:06:01
like that are left on the cliffhanger to push the button.
00:06:04
Like, uh, there are very few names and, uh, you know, very few people that we are like following and tracking, you know, what is their story through the thing.
00:06:14
Yeah.
00:06:14
And what I found interesting is that despite that, for me at least when I watched these two episodes, I still found myself trying to find people to root for and ended up being like,
00:06:27
oh man, I really hope this person doesn't get screwed over or like, oh man, this team is so cool.
00:06:32
Like, I hope they don't fail.
00:06:33
And I ended, I was very invested, even though I had no idea who these people actually were.
00:06:38
And in many ways, maybe liking them more because I didn't know more about.
00:06:41
Oh, okay.
00:06:42
Yeah, I guess, uh, they'd say like never meet your heroes.
00:06:45
Yeah.
00:06:45
You know, the more you know about the person, then you'll find something you don't like.
00:06:49
But $5 million is on the line here.
00:06:51
I really, even through two episodes, you know, I know that Mr.
00:06:54
Beast, do you like when people call him Jimmy?
00:06:56
I believe that's so informal.
00:06:58
It does.
00:06:59
It feels like one of those things where like you'd, you'd call like the president by their first name.
00:07:05
I mean, like, really?
00:07:08
Okay.
00:07:08
We get it.
00:07:08
You're closed to the guy.
00:07:10
Okay.
00:07:10
Yeah.
00:07:10
Yeah.
00:07:11
So we're also at the same time.
00:07:12
If you do know him personally, it'd be very weird to call him Mr.
00:07:15
Beast.
00:07:16
Yeah.
00:07:16
So you call him, hey, you call him Mr.
00:07:18
Beast.
00:07:19
Okay.
00:07:20
But you can listen, listen, you can call me Beast.
00:07:22
It's fine.
00:07:22
Yeah.
00:07:23
Please, Mr.
00:07:24
Beast is my father.
00:07:25
But it's, uh, mind blowing, the amount of money that they are giving away on this show.
00:07:32
I don't, like, and again, like, uh, it's been well documented.
00:07:35
The incredible success that Mr.
00:07:37
Beast has had on YouTube and all of the things that he has accomplished.
00:07:42
I don't know what Amazon is paying for this, but they are just like, uh, so much money is being just given away and spent to make this show.
00:07:54
Yeah.
00:07:54
It's really, uh, just shaming every other reality show.
00:08:00
It seems like you could make a decade of survivor for what they're spending on beast games.
00:08:05
Yeah.
00:08:06
Uh, and you could win, uh, like 10 seasons of survivor.
00:08:10
Yeah.
00:08:11
Make less money than you might make on beast games.
00:08:14
I mean, uh, it's, it was incredible.
00:08:17
So it's a, they start off beast games and okay, here's a thousand people and the first thing that they're going to do is like, we're going to eliminate, um, some people and was it a million dollars that they started off with?
00:08:31
Or was it?
00:08:31
So, uh, and because, because listen, they make a big deal of this.
00:08:35
Like every all of the records they're breaking, most amount of money given away in the first episode of a reality television show.
00:08:43
Yeah.
00:08:43
Uh, and they gave away a million dollars for anybody that, uh, dropped out, not, not specifically for anybody.
00:08:50
Yeah.
00:08:50
For anybody that dropped out in that time period, they'd share the million dollars.
00:08:54
So depending on how many people dropped out, you'd get a different amount of money.
00:08:58
Yeah.
00:08:58
And so it seems like a lot of the Mr.
00:09:00
Beast games, especially like early on and even through this, like this seems to be like a theme.
00:09:07
Who is willing to take money in order to one like screw these people over?
00:09:13
So then the people that don't take the offer get nothing.
00:09:17
And then also you're out of contention for the five million dollar prize.
00:09:20
But when it's a one in one thousand shot at getting to the grand prize, I, I wish I had the confidence of the people that feel like, hey, I'm getting to the five million.
00:09:29
I very much like the whole, the whole way through the very first challenge.
00:09:34
I was like, yep, I'm out.
00:09:35
Yeah.
00:09:35
20 grand like I mean.
00:09:37
Yeah.
00:09:38
Oh, I would, like, I would have felt like a winner right there.
00:09:41
Look, let me shout out in the chat here.
00:09:43
Uh, JT, JT Williams in the chat says I was a contestant on, on Mr.
00:09:49
Beast games.
00:09:51
And, uh, we have no reason to doubt JT's claim.
00:09:56
And so JT says, uh, wanted to be on survivor was an adventure for sure root for number 754.
00:10:03
And so that was over a hundred and twenty million dollars on Beast game.
00:10:08
That's the thing about the contestants is, uh, like, are you still on?
00:10:12
We don't know.
00:10:13
Tell us.
00:10:13
Exactly.
00:10:14
Track.
00:10:14
Who gets eliminated.
00:10:15
I don't even know.
00:10:16
We have a talk about the seafood from survivor.
00:10:18
Seafood was a contestant.
00:10:20
I don't even know if he's still in.
00:10:22
We hope so.
00:10:22
I haven't seen him in an episode.
00:10:25
Yeah.
00:10:26
So, Taren, uh, we'll get into like a little bit more of the details of what goes on.
00:10:31
But it so it seems like that where we're going with this is so in the beast games, uh, that they're going to like, uh, call the herd down from one hundred one thousand people to 500 people.
00:10:43
And then 500 people are going to go live in a city built by Mr.
00:10:48
Beast.
00:10:48
They spent fifteen million dollars building a city for people to live in while they play Beast games.
00:10:56
Yeah.
00:10:58
This feels unnecessary.
00:10:59
Yeah.
00:11:00
The Big Brother House has, uh, been the same trailer for twenty years, Taren.
00:11:08
Hmm.
00:11:08
Yeah.
00:11:08
And, you know, Big Brother loves to talk about.
00:11:11
It's like, uh, you know, one hundred cameras.
00:11:14
Uh, well, Jimmy's got over a thousand.
00:11:18
Yeah.
00:11:18
Well, eleven hundred.
00:11:19
Yeah.
00:11:19
He's like, uh, a thousand more cameras than the Big Brother House.
00:11:22
Um, yeah.
00:11:25
It's, and, you know, I think that, uh, calling it a city is maybe a little bit of an exaggeration.
00:11:31
It's, uh, more of like a park.
00:11:32
But, uh, but yeah, the, the five hundred that make it through the, the warehouse section go to the city.
00:11:39
Uh, I thought the warehouse section, though, was, was really cool.
00:11:43
I liked the setup with the, all of the lights and the trap doors.
00:11:45
I thought that was fun.
00:11:46
Yeah.
00:11:47
The, the, this place that they were after the first episode before they go to the city.
00:11:52
Yeah.
00:11:52
Yeah.
00:11:52
Um, no, it was, it was really cool, uh, like something that you would see, like in a cartoon, that all the people, the thousand people are sort of like wired up on trap doors and Mr.
00:12:02
Beast, like when you lose, you just get sucked right into the trap door.
00:12:06
Uh, it was wild watching the row of people just, I mean, I was like that, that doesn't even look real.
00:12:12
Mm-hmm.
00:12:12
Yeah.
00:12:13
Um, they did it.
00:12:15
They did it pretty wild.
00:12:18
Okay.
00:12:18
Uh, so, and in the beast city also, the people are going to live for a month also.
00:12:25
Yeah.
00:12:25
I wasn't sure about that.
00:12:26
So he said it's going to take place over a month.
00:12:28
I don't know if he meant that like they'd be filming over a month or that the show would be airing over the next month because I think they're filming over a month.
00:12:35
It's possible.
00:12:36
I mean, they, they, they based on all of the, like, we're going to go to a private island and, you know, the shoot or pirate ship and, uh, I think I imagine that.
00:12:46
A Lamborghini.
00:12:48
Yeah.
00:12:49
Yeah.
00:12:49
So there's a lot going on here in Beast Games.
00:12:53
Uh, we don't really know what the game's going to be, but that's sort of like, okay, how willing are you to screw over other people seems to be the thesis of beast games?
00:13:01
Mm-hmm.
00:13:02
Yeah.
00:13:03
Um, and really, especially in these early portions, like how unlucky are you to be in a group of people that happen to have somebody that's screwed you over is also a thing.
00:13:12
Yeah.
00:13:13
I mean, that, that's the show.
00:13:15
And so we're going to follow all these people.
00:13:18
And so, all right, um, we have the people that step a step out for ultimately $20,000 each.
00:13:25
That's how many people step out, but this was a good deal.
00:13:27
It was, it wasn't pretty good deal, I think.
00:13:30
Uh, you know, guaranteed.
00:13:32
What I was, like, I was wowed at the fact that so many people stepped out before, there was like a 10 minute timer.
00:13:37
Mm-hmm.
00:13:38
And there were people that stepped out at like eight minutes left.
00:13:41
Yeah.
00:13:41
It's like, you, you don't even know how many people at that point.
00:13:45
Just wait until the end.
00:13:46
Like most people did is then you have a season idea of like what kind of money you're actually stepping out for.
00:13:50
And, you know, if you know anything about Mr.
00:13:52
Beast, there's going to be other opportunities to get money.
00:13:55
You probably have to get lucky and pass another thing first, but like, you know, at least wait until the last minute and see what you can do.
00:14:03
Okay.
00:14:03
Taren, then after that, Mr.
00:14:06
Beast is going to eliminate like rows of people that you had to have one person from your row of, I don't know how many people were like per row.
00:14:17
I think it was like 80 people row at that point.
00:14:21
So if somebody had to give up, somebody had to step away to then ultimately save the whole group.
00:14:27
And there were going to be three rows that ultimately, the last three to not have a person give up, we're going to be automatically eliminated.
00:14:35
This is wild to me.
00:14:38
It's so fascinating that so many people are willing to step out for a group of people.
00:14:44
They don't even know.
00:14:45
They just met.
00:14:46
Yeah.
00:14:46
It is weird.
00:14:48
And they also like just had an opportunity to get $20,000 to do this.
00:14:53
Didn't do it.
00:14:53
But for the sake of a row of people that you that some of which you can't even see because they're so far away, you're willing to step up.
00:15:02
And none of those people are likely to win the whole thing either.
00:15:05
Like all of those people are also probably going to lose.
00:15:07
What do you think the motivation is for some of these people?
00:15:09
They just got there like, oh, I don't like this.
00:15:12
I'm not having fun.
00:15:13
I have to go to the bathroom.
00:15:15
You'd think, but then at the same time, it's like they just had an opportunity to leave.
00:15:19
They just had an opportunity to make $20,000 and it may be even more at the time that they were dropping out.
00:15:26
So like, why do I have to imagine, and this is what JT is saying at the same time, like it has to be people who think, I'm probably not going to win.
00:15:38
And there's like one or two people in my row that I know that I want to like drop out for like for them.
00:15:44
JT says so much of the game was played in the pregame.
00:15:47
We all knew each other so well going into that sacrifice round.
00:15:50
How did you all know each other?
00:15:51
I think they stayed in the in the same like the 2000 people round.
00:15:57
So I believe and JT may correct me.
00:16:01
But yeah, in Vegas, they had the 2000 people around.
00:16:04
And then I think even once they got to the next filming, like large groups of them were staying together in hotels.
00:16:12
And then they were had I'm sure lots of downtime.
00:16:16
And I saw I saw like the Colin and Samir video where they went behind the scenes and like, there were groups of people that like, yeah, we've made like a 20 person alliance.
00:16:25
How do you feel about free gaming for beast games, Taran?
00:16:28
This sounds like it's necessary.
00:16:30
Well, that'll be interesting to see if they touch on the pregame alliances.
00:16:35
Yeah.
00:16:35
Yeah.
00:16:36
JT says that we've had three weeks between filming and we hung out.
00:16:40
Well, okay, that's what you should do.
00:16:43
You need to find people that you can trust and so that you can be in a group with them as much as possible so that you're not dumb because like even if you are a person that wants to potentially like eliminate yourself for money,
00:16:57
there's a better way to do it than just like jumping at the first opportunity because some people as we've seen in these two episodes, some people will make like five to $20,000.
00:17:06
Some people could make up to a million dollars by stepping out.
00:17:09
And it's just a matter of like when you do it.
00:17:12
So if you're able to coordinate in a better way, then you're still going to make more money even if you do betray.
00:17:17
Yeah.
00:17:17
So a bunch of people are dropping out and people are crying.
00:17:21
I guess that this makes more sense that they know each other.
00:17:25
But I really, as this was all going on, I just was trying to follow like who are the people that I'm trying to track?
00:17:35
There's really not a lot of people to track so far.
00:17:41
And I am wondering if that's going to change over the course of the season as the numbers would all down.
00:17:46
I mean a thousand people to start with is way too many.
00:17:50
And you know, maybe one of the downsides of Squid Game is that like, you know, you did start to notice like there are some main characters right throughout the whole thing.
00:18:01
And that works for a TV show because you're following the main character like the scripted show.
00:18:06
But for the reality show like does that work in the same way?
00:18:09
I think it did work for Squid Game, but this is taking a different approach.
00:18:13
This is taking the approach of like just whoever is having the biggest reaction in the moment, they're the person we're following.
00:18:20
And you know, you definitely notice like Beard Guy that ends up being a polar bear guard or whatever who ends up being a captain.
00:18:27
Like you notice him because he's distinguished, he's got the distinguishing feature and they definitely have like highlighted him here and there.
00:18:34
But for the most part, yeah, it's just like all over the place.
00:18:38
Okay, they need to get this down to what if actually then we go to stacking the blocks.
00:18:47
And this is like a power of veto competition.
00:18:48
Yeah, they have to stack the blocks on the thing.
00:18:52
The rules weren't super clear to me at first, but I think what happens is like if a block falls out of your square, you're out.
00:18:59
You can't you can't continue.
00:19:01
If they fall and they're all within your square, I think you can still rebuild.
00:19:05
That was my understanding.
00:19:06
But but either way, once a block falls out of your square, that's it.
00:19:12
You're done.
00:19:13
And and then also if it's not fully formed at the end of the 10 minutes, you're also like done, but only 100 people were eliminated.
00:19:21
So it was like a whole thing.
00:19:22
Yeah.
00:19:22
And then they had to review the footage and then they got it down to what we have like 600 people left still.
00:19:31
Yeah, 600 plus, I think.
00:19:35
Okay.
00:19:35
And then we did another round where now okay, we're going to eliminate.
00:19:40
We did columns before.
00:19:42
Now you're in by your row of somebody has to step out.
00:19:46
Yes.
00:19:46
And this time instead of like, you know, you have to volunteer to save your row.
00:19:51
It was bribing people to eliminate their entire row to take money.
00:19:56
Yeah.
00:19:56
You happy for the people that took money or did you not like them?
00:20:00
I'm happy for them.
00:20:02
I was happy for them.
00:20:03
I was like, good for you.
00:20:04
Because it's also like, think about the social pressure of it, right?
00:20:08
Like there's a social pressure of the people in your row being like, nobody take it and we all agree.
00:20:15
And everyone's going to hate you if you take it.
00:20:18
But those are only like eight people.
00:20:21
Everybody else in that warehouse, they're cheering you to take it.
00:20:24
Do it because because that helps them.
00:20:27
That's one less row that they have to contend with.
00:20:29
So you might make like eight people super mad at you.
00:20:32
But like the other 600 or super happy with you and you walk away with like however much money they're making.
00:20:39
Right.
00:20:40
And I wish we got to see, you know, when I take the offer and like the nine people in my row get totally screwed over, they get nothing.
00:20:48
I wish they would like follow me on my way to the parking lot as like I'm getting a food and like garbage thrown at me and people are like giving me a wedgie on the way out.
00:20:59
Yeah.
00:21:01
That is the thing.
00:21:03
Like I am curious about like some of the fallout.
00:21:07
And maybe there is something there that we're missing in terms of like the amount of story that is being left on the table.
00:21:12
But other shows would not leave on the table about like milking these betrayals and these like intense emotions.
00:21:20
But in this show, we're just speeding through that.
00:21:22
That's what we're here for.
00:21:23
Okay.
00:21:23
JT.
00:21:24
All right.
00:21:25
Our number one beast games expert says we were on those pillars for about 32 hours, three days of 12 hours with those people before the betrayal round.
00:21:36
Yeah.
00:21:39
Long days shooting beast games.
00:21:42
Yeah.
00:21:43
I would be cut out for it.
00:21:45
Listen, if I'm ever on beast games, I'm never betraying anybody just so everyone knows that's I'm obviously super trustworthy and make me your captain.
00:21:53
Would you be good to stand there for all that time?
00:21:58
Yeah.
00:21:59
I'm going to win a lot of money.
00:22:01
Maybe, but you know, you might get nothing.
00:22:04
Yeah.
00:22:05
I mean, I take those odds.
00:22:08
Yeah.
00:22:09
Okay.
00:22:10
This seems like something that would appeal to you.
00:22:12
I mean, winning money appeals to me.
00:22:15
Yeah.
00:22:16
All right.
00:22:16
JT says you didn't have to stand.
00:22:17
Okay.
00:22:18
So you guys could sit down.
00:22:19
I just think it would be very boring.
00:22:20
It would be very boring.
00:22:22
Yeah.
00:22:22
I've got to listen.
00:22:24
If squid genuinely like it.
00:22:26
Yeah.
00:22:27
Like I would be more based on the games that we've seen so far.
00:22:32
I'd be more interested in playing squid game because they feel like more fun.
00:22:36
You get to jump.
00:22:37
Do you like the Mr.
00:22:38
Beast Jersey?
00:22:39
That's fine.
00:22:42
I'm not really a dress up guy.
00:22:44
You know.
00:22:45
Okay.
00:22:45
All right.
00:22:46
So we get it down to 500 people and we get to go to the beast city.
00:22:52
Anything else from the first episode?
00:22:56
Like I said, I just feel like the visuals were really fun.
00:22:59
The trap doors, the lights.
00:23:02
Like, you know, I've seen Mr.
00:23:05
Beast videos before.
00:23:07
This was definitely like of a higher quality, especially in terms of the cameras they were using.
00:23:12
I think that like a thing for Mr.
00:23:14
Beast is that he likes it looking amateur, but I don't.
00:23:17
I like it when it looks pretty like this.
00:23:20
Yeah.
00:23:20
Okay.
00:23:21
So we take the 500 people and we go out to beast city.
00:23:26
Also, people are going to win an island on this show.
00:23:28
What do you think about a private island?
00:23:30
It sounds really stupid.
00:23:31
It sounds like, yeah, a lot of upkeep I would think with the private island.
00:23:35
If I won an island, I would have no use for it whatsoever.
00:23:41
I would just sell it, I guess, if anybody was interested in buying it.
00:23:47
I'm going to go to my private island.
00:23:49
Great.
00:23:50
Now I'm there.
00:23:51
Do they have internet on your private island on an island?
00:23:54
Yeah.
00:23:54
Do they have internet?
00:23:55
Do they sell the island back to Mr.
00:24:00
Beast if you want it?
00:24:02
Yeah.
00:24:02
I feel like that's what literally everybody would do.
00:24:06
But you know what they say?
00:24:07
The island loses 30% of the value, the second that you take it off the map.
00:24:12
Yeah, that's true.
00:24:13
Okay.
00:24:15
You have to pay taxes on the island if you don't sell it.
00:24:17
Boy, JT knows a lot about the island.
00:24:19
Like winning a car, right?
00:24:21
Yeah.
00:24:21
Okay.
00:24:22
All right.
00:24:23
Taren, people had to then there was a tower in episode two.
00:24:31
And you had to pick a token to go into the tower.
00:24:34
And there were going to be four different competitions that were part of being in the tower.
00:24:41
So once people got set up, they had to pick, they had different names for these tokens.
00:24:47
Yeah.
00:24:48
I mean, they were like numbered, right?
00:24:51
And then there was there was like the description like hope you can catch.
00:24:56
Less is more.
00:24:56
Which really, you know, less is I don't know why anybody chose less is more.
00:25:02
I'm giving that token away for sure.
00:25:03
Yeah.
00:25:04
So we play the we go and set up these games.
00:25:08
And so the first game is we're going to drop a red ball from the ceiling.
00:25:14
And the first team that doesn't catch the red ball in the whole team is out.
00:25:18
I was blown away that they were going to have it be one drop and the whole thing is I was like, that's going to be so fast.
00:25:24
And then turns out it would have been even faster when they got it.
00:25:28
They had properly caught the fact that the very first guy catching the very first ball drops it.
00:25:33
Yeah.
00:25:34
One hundred cameras.
00:25:35
They missed it.
00:25:37
They missed it at first.
00:25:38
Yeah.
00:25:39
Did everybody just cover for that guy?
00:25:41
Did that guy like rat himself out?
00:25:45
And he's like, Hey, I have to admit something.
00:25:47
Yeah.
00:25:47
He was like, yeah, guys, I mean, I dropped and he was like, you don't have to say shut up.
00:25:52
And he was like, they have cameras everywhere.
00:25:54
They're going to find out.
00:25:56
But how does that guy get out of the building alive after that?
00:26:00
Right.
00:26:01
I mean, not to no fault of his own.
00:26:03
I mean, good.
00:26:04
I was to him for saying something too.
00:26:06
Like having the the wherewithal to like just own up to it.
00:26:11
But yeah, I mean, that was that was wild.
00:26:15
Oh, wow.
00:26:16
JT says the guy who dropped it kept me in the game by not taking a hundred K.
00:26:21
Oh, what do you mean in the previous?
00:26:24
I guess so.
00:26:25
I guess he was in the same row as JT.
00:26:27
Wow.
00:26:29
So you don't take a hundred thousand dollars and then you drop a ball.
00:26:32
Look, that's beast games, baby.
00:26:34
That's games.
00:26:36
Yeah.
00:26:36
Okay.
00:26:37
So then we had the does anybody want to leave game?
00:26:42
And this was a little bit like that scene in the dark night where the Joker puts a bomb on the two boats.
00:26:49
Remember that?
00:26:51
Did they have walkie talkies to communicate between the two boats or no?
00:26:56
I don't remember.
00:26:58
Yeah.
00:26:59
And the Joker's like, okay, you have the button to blow up their boat.
00:27:02
You have the button to blow up their boat.
00:27:04
This was that you had to have the least people there.
00:27:08
People had to quit the game and you had a telephone to talk to each other.
00:27:12
Yeah.
00:27:14
I liked how clearly annoyed Mr.
00:27:15
Beast was that they weren't using the phone.
00:27:18
He's just like, guys, whoa, you're not going to talk to them like, you know, you know what?
00:27:26
On Squid Game, the Squid Game, the challenge, there was like a thing where like a guy answered the phone and then basically like he got killed for answering the phone.
00:27:35
Yeah.
00:27:36
I mean, I thought Mr.
00:27:38
Beast was going to start offering people things if they answered the phone, but then he didn't.
00:27:42
No, no, they didn't really end up using this.
00:27:44
And then there was a couple of people that just left out of the goodness of their heart, which was nice.
00:27:48
There was one lady, but I feel like these people probably felt like that they were getting more of a moment in the show.
00:27:54
Right.
00:27:55
That's what I'm saying.
00:27:56
It's like what you're like, that's even wilder to me that you would just dip without even knowing that it's going to make a difference at that point.
00:28:06
It's like, yeah, you know, I'm just going to drop out here and make no money and just hope that you guys make it.
00:28:15
I guess they've developed relationships with these people, but like if you're in a spot where like you're going to need to potentially quit the game in order to help your friend, like don't, don't group up with them.
00:28:26
Yeah.
00:28:26
Also JT says they use the phone more than you saw.
00:28:30
I don't know why they edited it more like that.
00:28:33
Who knows?
00:28:35
Maybe it was boring.
00:28:36
It was boring.
00:28:37
Like, hey, what's up?
00:28:40
It didn't seem like it made any difference.
00:28:43
No.
00:28:44
And then the people that like then like three or four people left at the end and it's like again, they was like, like a rapid cut.
00:28:50
I don't think we saw their faces.
00:28:52
Yeah, it was very funny to me because Mr.
00:28:55
Beast was like, all right, white team.
00:28:57
That's the guy left at the last second that gave you the win.
00:29:00
Everyone thanked him and the camera never even showed his face.
00:29:03
Yeah.
00:29:04
Just from behind.
00:29:04
He was like, yeah.
00:29:05
All right.
00:29:07
Then we get to get ready to throw down.
00:29:12
We have sort of our beer pong from the like up up in the second or third floor and then bounce the ping pong ball into the red solo cup.
00:29:22
Yeah.
00:29:23
And then he introduces the golden cup, which I thought was way too hard to get it.
00:29:28
Nobody's intended it until they were eliminated.
00:29:31
Right.
00:29:32
Because at first I was like, oh, that's interesting.
00:29:33
It's a little bit further away, but like totally doable.
00:29:36
But then later, you see it's not a full cup.
00:29:38
It's like covered with a tiny little like ball-shaped hole in the middle.
00:29:42
And it's like, there's no way anybody's going to get it in there.
00:29:45
Yeah.
00:29:46
I mean, do you feel like and maybe we'll get this later.
00:29:49
But like, do we need to know more about like a like, okay, oh, I'm, you know, in deeply in debt.
00:29:55
Like the characters in Squid Game, like the, certainly the scripted show, like they really needed this money.
00:30:03
Yeah.
00:30:05
I mean, they're like, I think there was something I saw where like it was like, how many people have quit their jobs to be on this?
00:30:12
And they're like, yeah, a bunch of people.
00:30:15
And it's like, oh, boy, that's it.
00:30:19
So yeah, I just like, it's so hard to tell what this is going to be based off of what we've seen so far.
00:30:27
It's just, it's just like human fodder.
00:30:30
I don't know.
00:30:31
I don't know how else to explain it.
00:30:34
It's such a strange thing to watch.
00:30:36
Yeah.
00:30:37
It's very dystopian.
00:30:40
And I think that that's like by design.
00:30:43
Yeah.
00:30:44
But I think that sometimes like then there is like, like we see, do find like some humanity in some of these like Mr.
00:30:52
Beast games that he does in like on the YouTube channel.
00:30:55
But you know, that all happens over the course of like 35, 40 minutes.
00:31:00
Like I don't know, like at what point in the run of Beast games we're going to get to the point where we start to like understand who these people are.
00:31:08
Something they mentioned in one of the behind the scenes videos was that like the intention I think was to start the show episode one was the most YouTube it would be.
00:31:18
And then every episode, it would get more and more like regular established and entertainment industry.
00:31:25
And I'd say I like the second episode better than the first episode.
00:31:28
The first episode of my head was spinning a little bit.
00:31:30
I will also say as I was watching YouTube videos about the thing.
00:31:34
When I watched the like 2000 person video, I was like, this is too much.
00:31:38
I've had too much Mr.
00:31:40
Beast.
00:31:41
This is just two episodes was just just enough for me at the time.
00:31:46
And now it's going to be like one episode a week, which I think is going to be fine.
00:31:49
Okay.
00:31:49
So we had our playing the beer pong.
00:31:54
The pink team got out to a pretty insurmountable lead.
00:31:58
And then ultimately wins that that whole team ends up getting eliminated.
00:32:03
And then we had a trivia contest.
00:32:04
Yeah, I'm normally a huge fan of trivia because it like the stakes are a lot more clear and you can play along.
00:32:14
But for some reason, this was just kind of really boring.
00:32:16
I don't know.
00:32:18
They montage it because the questions, I guess we're so easy and they're really getting them right.
00:32:22
Yeah.
00:32:24
Yeah.
00:32:24
Okay.
00:32:25
Ultimately, we end up with one of the teams has to come up with what got Apple.
00:32:32
What did Apple invent in 2001?
00:32:36
The iPod, which ultimately then eliminates you would have got that.
00:32:41
I would have got it.
00:32:42
You would have ate that.
00:32:43
Okay.
00:32:43
iPhone was too early for that.
00:32:44
Too early for iPhone.
00:32:45
Okay.
00:32:46
All right.
00:32:46
So then we get after all this.
00:32:51
Okay.
00:32:51
We get people into smaller groups with captain, but make sure you pick some of that you can trust because they're going to be tempted once again, which is again, like the crux of beast games.
00:33:03
How much can you trust a person to not screw you over and take the money themselves?
00:33:07
This is my favorite version of this that they've done so far because they specifically like your fate is in your own hands with this one.
00:33:16
You are choosing to put your trust in a particular person.
00:33:19
The first time just happening to be in a group with people that you end up getting screwed over with.
00:33:24
Yeah, and a few people said, "Pick me.
00:33:26
You could trust me.
00:33:27
I'm fine.
00:33:28
I'm good."
00:33:29
All right.
00:33:29
So we get how many different captains that get picked?
00:33:33
I think it was four captains.
00:33:34
Was it only four?
00:33:35
I think so.
00:33:36
Unless they do four and four.
00:33:38
I think it was four on each side.
00:33:40
I couldn't say it was another set of captains.
00:33:42
Guess what?
00:33:43
We have our expert.
00:33:44
It was only four.
00:33:44
I apologize.
00:33:45
Four captains.
00:33:48
Then Mr.
00:33:50
Beast has a money counter that is going to go up exponentially and that number when it goes up.
00:33:58
People could take that offer and leave with that money.
00:34:01
Then Mr.
00:34:02
Beast adds in the twist that two different twists.
00:34:05
There was one twist that the person who takes the money is not eliminated.
00:34:11
If nobody takes the money, everybody gets to stay.
00:34:16
You don't get eliminated, but surely you have a target on your back.
00:34:23
You're going to have a hard time.
00:34:26
Everybody loves you.
00:34:27
Somebody to drop out for you in the future.
00:34:29
I thought this was very compelling.
00:34:36
However, they do the thing that I very much hate in the show, which the cliffhanger.
00:34:41
I've talked about this a lot covering other shows.
00:34:44
If you haven't heard me rant about it, I'll try to be brief.
00:34:47
This is the wrong kind of cliffhanger.
00:34:50
We're going to come back next week to see the end result of this and it's not going to be as fulfilling as it would have been if we had seen the end result with all of the buildup.
00:35:00
It's going to be a lot less climactic because of that.
00:35:03
The right kind of cliffhanger is when you finish a thing and promise something else rather than when you take away from a thing you already are getting,
00:35:14
if that makes sense.
00:35:15
We were, they took the ending away from us rather than promising us, "Oh, what's going to happen next?"
00:35:22
That's my thing about that.
00:35:24
But we can speculate, Taren, because this money is getting high.
00:35:28
Even Mr.
00:35:29
Beast himself, he cannot believe it.
00:35:32
He says that he's going to throw up because he can't believe how much money.
00:35:36
He says the money will stop at some point but it will stop at a disgusting amount and he wasn't joking because we see that the money is going up over $100,000.
00:35:48
Over $200,000.
00:35:51
Over $500,000.
00:35:53
Over $700,000.
00:35:56
We are getting up close to $1 million.
00:36:01
At this point, I'm just thinking about all these other reality shows that we talk about and all these other things that we watch these people go through.
00:36:09
Taren, you watch people every summer go for 100 days locked in this house trying to get just $750,000.
00:36:19
All these people have to do is push a button.
00:36:22
That's it.
00:36:23
You win big brother.
00:36:24
Yeah.
00:36:25
They wouldn't do it and then do it.
00:36:27
Yeah.
00:36:29
Just one, one con.
00:36:31
That's all they should.
00:36:33
All these seasons of survivor, people fighting for $1 million.
00:36:36
You get a million dollars if you push the button.
00:36:39
I mean, listen, I can't even pretend.
00:36:45
I can't even pretend in the in the theoretical, hypothetical situation where I'm on the show, because I absolutely would do my best to convince people I wouldn't do it.
00:36:53
But then I absolutely would do it.
00:36:55
I mean, how can you not?
00:36:57
They picked a million dollars.
00:36:59
It's a fifth of the total money.
00:37:02
So what do you think everybody in that group like 10 grand and be big shell?
00:37:08
Yeah.
00:37:08
What do you think is going to happen?
00:37:09
I think somebody's going to press it.
00:37:12
Okay.
00:37:12
I think they're going to ultimately hit the button and they're going to hit the number that Mr.
00:37:19
Beast needs to get to and everybody's going to stay.
00:37:21
If nobody presses it, then it's an even worse cliffhanger to me.
00:37:25
It's like, now you've re now you've really just lost my trust, Mr.
00:37:29
Beast.
00:37:29
This is the last.
00:37:30
But maybe they have to do the cliffhanger that because nobody is going to press it.
00:37:35
And so it's sort of like then to end the episode on that everybody gets to stay.
00:37:39
It's not as intense as like, okay, I got to see what happens next time.
00:37:42
Maybe.
00:37:44
Maybe.
00:37:45
I was thinking the whole time I was thinking beard guy.
00:37:50
Do a polar bear guy.
00:37:51
Yeah.
00:37:51
I was thinking he because he was like, nope, not even going to look.
00:37:55
Not even going to look.
00:37:56
They start looking.
00:37:57
They start like, oh, man.
00:37:58
But I was like, I think this guy's going to do it.
00:38:02
They all trusted him the most out of anybody.
00:38:04
I was like, I think this guy, I think you might do it.
00:38:07
If anybody does it, I think it's going to be Dino.
00:38:12
He was the one they were really hyping up that might they were hyping up Dino a lot.
00:38:16
And then Dino was looking like very much and then he was like doing like weird stuff with his hands like, oh, yeah.
00:38:22
And then it also like they made a point of showing somebody else who volunteered and then they shot that guy down.
00:38:27
So it does.
00:38:28
No, Dino's my guy.
00:38:29
It's Dino.
00:38:30
I did feel like Dino was kind of being like, oh, wow.
00:38:33
Look at all of this.
00:38:35
And like he was preparing to like accidentally like, oh no, accidentally.
00:38:39
And I'm sorry.
00:38:40
I was just waving my arms around.
00:38:42
Oh, no.
00:38:42
Whoops.
00:38:43
Oh, well, well, I guess I'll take my million dollars.
00:38:46
But isn't it like so wild of like Dino?
00:38:49
Like let's say Dino pushes the button and goes leaves with a million dollars from Beast Games.
00:38:54
Like life changing money for Dino for the rest of his life.
00:38:59
And it's like, wow, like look at the house, the car, the Dino.
00:39:02
How do you like?
00:39:03
Well, did you see the first two episodes of Beast Games?
00:39:07
I mean, listen, still less exploitative than most wealth in America.
00:39:11
So I don't know.
00:39:14
Like I feel like that I was not riveted through the first episode and a half.
00:39:22
But I feel like by the end of the second episode, it's like I feel like, you know, we got something here.
00:39:26
I want to see how this plays out.
00:39:28
Yeah, me too.
00:39:28
I liked the tower stuff.
00:39:30
I liked this, the cliffhanger bummed me out.
00:39:33
But I was honestly, I was kind of surprised because we've heard a lot about this show.
00:39:40
There's a bit of a lot of controversy.
00:39:43
And it felt like, like does Mr.
00:39:44
Beast even still got it?
00:39:46
But I did enjoy it.
00:39:48
I enjoyed watching.
00:39:51
I thought it was fun.
00:39:52
You know, I kind of thought when I was watching it, I'm like, I don't think Karen's going to like this.
00:39:55
I liked it.
00:39:58
Yeah.
00:39:59
Okay.
00:39:59
Well, that's good to hear.
00:40:01
Well, I'm excited to watch it with my kids.
00:40:04
They are big beast guys, beast heads.
00:40:08
Yeah.
00:40:09
Yeah.
00:40:09
I promised my son Dominic that I would let him watch it and then talk to him about it on the patron podcast feed.
00:40:18
So coming this weekend, I'm going to talk to Dominic about his thoughts on this.
00:40:25
And he can tell us how was this sigma?
00:40:30
Was it Skibbity?
00:40:33
Find out.
00:40:35
Listen, we have to really get into the true audience for this.
00:40:40
Yeah, that's like the core demo, the 11 year olds.
00:40:43
What are they thinking about beast games?
00:40:45
Yeah.
00:40:48
I mean, listen, I'll be, I'll be listening.
00:40:51
What if my son is like dad survivor is old news?
00:40:55
I want to grow up and be on beast games.
00:40:58
What do I do?
00:40:59
You explained to him the math.
00:41:02
He's like, no, I'll kill it.
00:41:06
I'm him.
00:41:07
I'm going to win beast games.
00:41:09
Just like, listen, you have like a one in 18 shot at winning a million dollars on survivor.
00:41:16
It's better odds.
00:41:17
Yeah, better odds.
00:41:18
You know, I got so mad last night, Karen, we were watching the survivor finale and we were watching the survivor after show.
00:41:24
And there was like 15 minutes left.
00:41:26
And he was like, Dad, do we have to keep watching this?
00:41:29
Like, do we see, like, can we watch something else now?
00:41:34
Like, it's not over.
00:41:35
I mean, listen, to be fair, the after shows lately have left me feeling a little bit more.
00:41:42
But I have to watch it.
00:41:43
Like, do you understand what goes on in this house?
00:41:46
Yeah.
00:41:49
Okay.
00:41:50
It's really your job.
00:41:52
Like, we got to do this.
00:41:53
JT says, explain to him that getting on beast games is a hundred times easier.
00:41:56
I think we get that.
00:41:57
I think we get that.
00:41:58
Well, yes, however, I think for Dominic, getting on survivor would be relatively easy as well.
00:42:05
I think it's an easy sell to Jeff Probe.
00:42:07
Maybe there's some, there's some story there, specifically for Dominic.
00:42:10
Yeah.
00:42:11
Yeah.
00:42:11
I don't think we've, we've talked too much about this yet, but the reality TV news account on Blue Sky posted.
00:42:18
There's some familiar faces.
00:42:20
Of course, this JT from the chat.
00:42:23
But then also some other folks that you may or may not recognize.
00:42:27
Our friend Seafood, also star of Seafood games is there.
00:42:33
Katastan 64.
00:42:34
I do not know if Seafood was still in the game.
00:42:37
Maybe JT can tell us.
00:42:38
Tarant, do you recognize this woman in the middle?
00:42:41
Ainsley.
00:42:44
Ainsley.
00:42:45
Yeah, without the blue hair.
00:42:51
She's in disguise.
00:42:52
She's in cognito.
00:42:53
And then I actually did recognize one of these two squid game people.
00:43:00
So there's two people who are from squid games, the challenge.
00:43:05
Felicia.
00:43:07
And then also Daniel.
00:43:08
He was what he was like in the, the gang, right?
00:43:12
Yes.
00:43:13
He was one of the people in the gang.
00:43:15
You're right.
00:43:15
Yeah.
00:43:17
Okay.
00:43:17
And JT also says, I got to explain what big brother was to Ainsley.
00:43:23
As I guess that the woman that played Ainsley didn't even know what big brother was.
00:43:29
That's not surprising.
00:43:32
Porter on the show.
00:43:33
Yeah.
00:43:34
Apparently she's interested in playing these games.
00:43:38
We need to get Ainsley on big brother.
00:43:40
They should have voted her into the house.
00:43:42
She could have been the 17th house guest.
00:43:43
You wouldn't have to go on beast games.
00:43:46
Yeah.
00:43:47
Okay.
00:43:47
All right.
00:43:48
JT also lets us know that the first row got eliminated from sacrifices.
00:43:53
So Seafood and Felicia were both out early.
00:43:56
Not fair.
00:43:57
Bring back Seafood.
00:43:59
Yeah.
00:43:59
They could just let him back in the, in the herd.
00:44:01
Nobody's gonna notice.
00:44:02
Nobody's counting.
00:44:03
I think that they, I think they were.
00:44:05
I think they all have like tags on them because people did try to stay after they were eliminated in certain ones.
00:44:11
Oh, okay.
00:44:12
You got to watch out for that.
00:44:14
Charles wants to know, I haven't started this show.
00:44:16
Is it survivor tear good?
00:44:17
I mean, no.
00:44:18
It's season one.
00:44:22
It's season one.
00:44:23
Yeah.
00:44:24
I mean, it's, it's very different.
00:44:26
I think the thing about this show is that it's very different.
00:44:29
And if you are able to watch it without getting a headache, you might find it interesting in the ways that it does things.
00:44:37
But it is also, as we've mentioned, very dystopian.
00:44:40
There's a lot of controversy attached to it.
00:44:42
When you have 2,000 people all competing and an inexperienced crew handling all of that, like things, there's all kinds of different accusations that were leveled.
00:44:55
So, you know, you can factor that into whether you decide you want to watch it.
00:44:59
But, you know, I think as an entertainment, as a piece of entertainment, I think it was, it was fun.
00:45:06
Okay.
00:45:07
All right.
00:45:07
So let's see where we go with Beast Games.
00:45:10
Also, Squid Game, the series is back also on Netflix coming up next week.
00:45:16
So there's a lot of this type of content out there.
00:45:20
I would say that I am curious to see more.
00:45:23
Is my official review on Beast Games?
00:45:26
Yeah.
00:45:26
The thing too, I mentioned this on the taste makers, but the thing that Amazon does because I still haven't updated my Amazon Prime account to do no ads is that when the ads play while you're watching an episode,
00:45:40
it'll have like press okay to add this to your cart as part of the advertisement.
00:45:47
Like they are deep.
00:45:48
Yeah.
00:45:48
Also, like I got an ad and I'm like, is this, I'm not getting like targeted like video ads also then on the like I wasn't sure.
00:45:57
I'm sure you do.
00:45:59
I'm sure they have ads, not that I've seen an ad for something that I'm actually interested in buying, but like it makes sense that they'd have an ad like they know your shopping history and preferences.
00:46:08
So like you'd assume that they'd target pretty specifically.
00:46:12
Yeah.
00:46:12
And then Taran, Beast Games has like a couple of big sponsors here on this.
00:46:19
And then the one that has been some controversy around of that one is like a financial lender company.
00:46:30
It's like you could money lion.
00:46:33
Right.
00:46:36
I think that was the one you probably also is being done with money lion.
00:46:42
I don't know what's going on there.
00:46:44
I am not scanned.
00:46:45
I didn't scan the QR code.
00:46:46
I did not.
00:46:49
I don't know.
00:46:50
I don't know what's, you know, I see a random QR code.
00:46:53
I'm not scanning.
00:46:54
So yeah, it's I'm going to money lending service, I guess.
00:47:01
Yeah.
00:47:03
Hey, if you need money, you could either win Beast Games or call those guys, I guess.
00:47:09
Probably don't though.
00:47:10
We don't know.
00:47:13
Okay.
00:47:13
All right.
00:47:15
Taran, anything else you want to say about Beast Games?
00:47:17
You know, I don't think it's like the revolution that we maybe hoped, you know, six months ago or whatever when we first discussed it.
00:47:28
I don't think this is, you know, going to change reality television.
00:47:34
I'm interested to see what the viewership is like, what the translation is from YouTube to streaming.
00:47:42
But I'm curious about it.
00:47:44
I think it's still intriguing as a concept and in the way that it approaches this kind of content.
00:47:52
Yeah.
00:47:52
And I don't know if these videos are going to be posted on YouTube, but it just feels like that if this was like on the Mr.
00:48:00
Beast channel, like I kind of feel like that there would be a bigger audience for this.
00:48:04
And I feel like that is Mr.
00:48:06
Beast putting this on Amazon Prime actually going to show this to less people than he would if he just had it on his YouTube channel.
00:48:15
Well, that's the thing.
00:48:16
I looked for more reactions and more of a response to this.
00:48:21
I looked on Reddit and I looked on other places where I'd normally see discussion about television.
00:48:27
And it's kind of crickets.
00:48:28
I'm not really seeing much discussion about this.
00:48:31
There's a bunch of, as I mentioned, YouTube videos being dropped about it.
00:48:34
There's people in the comments of the YouTube videos.
00:48:36
But there's not any serious discussion about the show.
00:48:38
It has its own subreddit, but it's pretty dead.
00:48:41
So maybe I'm just not hip to where the discussion has happened on the internet anymore, but like in the places I often look, I'm not seeing much.
00:48:51
Okay.
00:48:52
All right.
00:48:52
Well, let us know what you thought about beast games in the comments and we'll be following along.
00:48:58
Terran, what else is going on for you?
00:49:00
Well, as we've mentioned, check out the taste makers.
00:49:04
I think it's a very fun podcast.
00:49:06
We check out all of the new shows that are airing, movies that are coming out, news in the world of TV and film.
00:49:13
We keep you updated on all of it and let you know maybe what's worth watching, maybe what's worth not watching.
00:49:19
And so tune into that.
00:49:21
It's on the we know scripted TV feed and also on the YouTube channel.
00:49:26
If you want to watch us, it's grace and I over there.
00:49:29
And then we got other stuff happening all of a place.
00:49:34
Okay.
00:49:34
All right.
00:49:34
And then we've got a ton of survivor finale coverage as well up everything from last night's survivor finale, including my interviews with the final four and survivor know it all is today.
00:49:45
So be sure to check that out.
00:49:47
And then I'll be talking beast games with my 11 year old son Dominic.
00:49:53
And we're going to drop that in the patron feed at some point this weekend.
00:49:57
So be on the lookout for that.
00:49:59
Depending on what kind of mood he's in, that could be a very short podcast.
00:50:04
Yeah.
00:50:05
Could be a three minute podcast.
00:50:07
It could be three minutes could be could be like an hour.
00:50:10
I just explaining the whole lore.
00:50:12
If he's on a roll.
00:50:13
Okay.
00:50:14
So I am looking forward to that.
00:50:16
So check that out.
00:50:16
That'll be in the patron podcast feed at robswebside.com/patreon.
00:50:20
Thank you so much for joining us.
00:50:21
Take care everybody.
00:50:22
Have a good one.
00:50:24
Bye.
00:50:25
(upbeat music)
00:50:28
