Murder of Takeoff (Texas, 2022)
Update: 2025-12-04
Description
On November 1, 2022, at a private late-night gathering outside 810 Billiards and Bowling in Houston, rapper Kirshnik Khari “Takeoff” Ball was shot and killed. Police confirmed he was an innocent bystander standing away from a brief argument that preceded the gunfire. Detectives secured the scene, collected casings, and gathered witness statements. Ballistics work later confirmed that more than one firearm had been used. Surveillance footage, public videos, and digital evidence helped reconstruct the timeline. Takeoff’s movements showed he did not participate in the dice game or the dispute. Witness cooperation was limited, but video analysis and trajectory mapping led investigators toward a single suspect. On December 2022, Houston police arrested Patrick Xavier Clark, supported by ballistics evidence and enhanced footage. Legal proceedings followed. The case reinforced the verified conclusion that Takeoff had no role in the argument and was struck as an unintended target. His death sparked widespread grief throughout the music industry and the community.
