My Testimony Part 1 Introduction:







Good evening everyone!  If you are joining us today, you are listening to my testimony, part 1, the premiere episode of Life in the Son with C. K. Williams, and I want to welcome you and ask you to return at every convenience. We would love to have you.











My Testimony Part 1:







I grew up in Jackson, MS on the Northeast side. From the beginning, I did not like Jackson, and I do not like it any better now. But, not liking something doesn't change a thing.







My childhood saw less than admirable conditions – family life was rough. I attended decent schools, (transferring frequently) and had some awesome teachers. On the other hand, Chastain Jr. High broke away from all standard educational practices of the day. I dubbed this school the gladiator hall. After two years there, I endured one last culture shock before I graduating high school. We transferred to the Clinton public school system.











Life in the Son Background Part 1a:







The name, “Life in the Son”, says it all. The life of Jesus Christ, the Son of God, provides the example by which His followers are to live. Sadly, we missed the mark. People say, “God knows our heart. He also knows that we are just trying to make it so, He understands.” God does not work that way! Do not fall for this false ideology!







God truly knows everything we think and do, long before we think or do it. But, be not deceived, God forgives, he does not excuse. Life in the Son is living out the example that Christ demonstrated for us.







This is Life in the Son. It is not always easy. An ex-girlfriend once told me that she perceived the Christian life as boring. Her statement took me aback!







While poorly attempting to exercise humility, I retorted, “Really? Remember our relationship. Did you forget that I am a Christian? Does my life seem boring to you?" At this point, the look on her face was a testament to my lack of humility but, I continued anyway. "Think about this, ever since we started dating, I developed a skill for dodging bullets. Never did I dream that was possible until now!”









God's Word on Life in the Son







1 John 5:10-11 (NASB, 1995 updated)

10 The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given concerning His Son.

11 And the testimony is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.













Latter Rain Ministry Background Part 1b:







Allow me to talk a little about Latter Rain Ministry. Although the full history is a great story, this will be rather brief. Twenty years ago, I started a second group in Yahoo! groups that I named “Latter Rain”, in response to a growing interest in the lessons from our weekly home Bible Study groups. I began recording Bible studies, which I typed, and subsequently, posted to the Latter Rain group.







The topics and discussions from our Bible Studies were very popular with the group. In fact, the group eagerly, almost impatiently, awaited each new posting.
