The purpose of this podcast is to:

•  enable you to distinguish the Carioca accent, spoken in Rio de Janeiro and nearby areas. 


•   show you the sound and pronunciation of the letter /R/   and /S/  when a Carioca speaks.


•  explain and teach you how to use guttural sounds by comparing them with some English words.


• explain when some words in Portuguese can be shortened and keep the same meaning.
