NASA Loses Contact with Mars Maven Spacecraft
Update: 2025-12-10
Description
NASAs Maven spacecraft, orbiting Mars for over a decade, has lost contact, halting its mission to study the planets atmosphere and its interaction with solar wind. The spacecraft, which also served as a communication relay for rovers Curiosity and Perseverance, suddenly stopped communicating after passing behind Mars. NASA is currently investigating the cause of the communication failure, while two other active Mars orbiters continue their missions.
