NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME, YEAR C
Description
(Wisdom 18:6-9; Ps 33(32); Hebrews 11:1-2, 8-19; Luke 12:32-48)
Theme: Embracing the Challenge of Divine Rest Assured by Faith
Our Lord Jesus reminds us in today’s gospel that it pleased the Father to offer and welcome us into His place of rest. Therefore, the challenge lies in how to stay awake, vigilant, and live a life that prepares us for that rest and makes us instruments of that place of peace.
This challenge is within our capacity because our daily task is to renew our relationship with the Lord, who created us and for Himself. Thus, we must develop the strategies needed to overcome obstacles impeding our communion with the Lord, and we must have the mindset to live each day as if it were our last opportunity to purify ourselves for entry into His place of rest.
