Description
Fridays New York Mercantile Exchange saw a surge in futures contracts, with most December 2020 to December 2028 contracts showing positive changes. The December 25 contract settled at $4,361.40, up by $21.90, while the January 26 contract closed at $4,369.80, gaining $22. Estimated sales were 165,319 contracts, lower than Thursdays, but open interest increased by 6,354 to 477,788. Separately, a different set of contracts also saw gains, with the December 25 contract settling at $66.845 and the January 26 contract closing at $66.99, both up by $2,253 points. Estimated sales were 96,648, less than Thursdays 119,625, but open interest rose by 1,406 to 154,298.
