Nationalism Studies Program at CEU Shuts Down

Central European Universitys Nationalism Studies program, once a beacon for understanding global nationalism, is ceasing operations. Established in the nineties, it attracted students to study nation formation and conflicts. However, due to financial strain and low applications, the program will close, leaving only a few students and faculty. The programs closure comes at a time when nationalism is on the rise, with surging nationalism in Russia, Europe, and the US. Despite the programs end, its lessons on identity and prejudice continue to be relevant, and there are plans to revive it in the History department.
