Description

In this episode, we talk with Native American parents who also work in prevention with Native American families. We cover how heritage and culture can be one of our strongest resources, both inside our tribal communities and beyond.  Our guests, from the San Juan School District in Southeast Utah, share several stories from the Ute, Mountain Ute and Navajo Nation tribes that truly inspire.  Stories of origin and purpose help all kids grow in understanding their value.  They can also provide answers to “where do I fit” and “how do I belong” – important questions for teenage identity development.  No matter our cultural backgrounds, heritage can support the individual and community.  Please enjoy this very insightful and profound episode that honors National Native American Heritage month and the importance of culture over time.
