Natural Gas Prices Dip Due to Warmer Weather, Higher Production
Update: 2025-12-23
Description
Natural gas prices took a dip on Monday, with January futures on the NYMEX closing down 0.019, a drop of 0.48%. Warmer weather across the US is reducing heating demand, putting downward pressure on prices. Despite this, production has increased, with output reaching 114 billion cubic feet per day on Monday, up 9.3% from last year. LNG exports also rose slightly. However, the latest storage report showed a smaller-than-expected draw of 167 billion cubic feet, but still bigger than the five-year average. With ample supplies and mild weather, prices may face further pressure heading into the holidays.
