Description
New, modern fare gates are being installed in subway stations, replacing old emergency exits and offering a more accessible and secure experience for commuters. These wide-aisle gates, equipped with AI and sensors, can accommodate wheelchairs, strollers, and luggage, and detect fare evasion. The MTA plans to install these gates at 150 stations over the next four years.
