Sheriff Bakken reported that the “No Kings” anti-Trump rallies this past weekend in Carbon County were peaceful and sparsely attended.

On October 18th, groups of self-described bipartisan demonstrators gathered across the nation, including in Rawlins, to protest alleged federal overreach by the Trump Administration.

During yesterday’s Board of Carbon County Commissioners meeting in Elk Mountain, Sheriff Alex Bakken announced that last Saturday’s No Kings protest in the county occurred without incident. Sheriff Bakken expressed gratitude to both the protest and counter-protest organizers for maintaining a calm and respectful atmosphere.

Sheriff Bakken said the Rawlins No Kings protest was the largest, drawing approximately 30 participants.
