The Minnesota Twins' descent reached another bottom this week when they fell into a tie with the Detroit Tigers for the final wild card spot in the American League. This time the Twins lost three of four to the rival Cleveland Guardians, whom David is still certain aren't actually very good despite their success against the Twins. So, with nine games remaining, the Twins need to at least remain tied with the Tigers to make the playoffs, unless the Royals, who are still within both teams' reach, continue their own struggles. David and Dan agree that the blame should fall at the feet of ownership and not at those of the manager, Rocco Baldelli, who has done the best with what he's got. They lament the lack of movement at the trade deadline and the injury to Joe Ryan earlier this summer. But David tries to remain positive, because maybe, just maybe, this could still be Minnesota's year. Thanks for listening, and go Twins!
