Numerous Summit County riders named to Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Team
Description
On Friday, Oct. 17, U.S. Ski and Snowboard announced the 56 athletes who have accepted their nomination to the 2025-26 Hydro Flask U.S. Snowboard Team.
The team is comprised of talented halfpipe, slopestyle and snowboard-cross athletes. The team also features eight athletes who call the Summit County region home.
The men’s pro halfpipe team will be spearheaded by Leadville resident Chase Blackwell. Blackwell has been on the U.S. team since 2018 and will look to vie for a spot on the U.S. Olympic team this winter.
While the women’s pro halfpipe team does not include any Summit County talent, the halfpipe rookie team includes former Summit Action Sports athlete Rochelle “Rocke” Weinberg. Hailing out of Steamboat Springs, Weinberg is entering her second season on the U.S. halfpipe rookie team.
A total of six Summit County athletes have been named to the U.S. slopestyle and big air teams.
Leading the charge on the men’s pro team is none other than Olympic gold medalist Red Gerard from Silverthorne. Having already secured a spot to his third Olympics, Gerard will spend the early part of the season dialing in the run he will showcase in February in Italy.
Gerard will be joined by Silverthorne’s Jake Canter and former longtime Summit County resident Chris Corning. Both athletes are expected to have standout seasons and compete for spots on the U.S. Olympic team.
After a breakout season last winter, Lily Dhawornvej has been promoted to the women’s pro slopestyle and big air team ahead of the 2025-26 season. Growing up in Frisco, Dhawornvej, 16, was able to secure her first World-Cup podium finish last winter, taking second at a slopestyle competition in New Zealand last August. Dhawornvej will lend her talents to a deep and talented women’s pro slopestyle team which includes athletes like Hailey Langland, Jamie Anderson and Julia Marino.
Two Summit County riders will be on the women’s rookie slopestyle and big air team this season in Silverthorne’s Kaitlyn Adams and Frisco’s Giada Brienza. Adams has been on the team since 2022 with Brienza set to make her debut.
