Nutrition 201: Micronutrients
Description
In todays episode I follow up Ep. 15 Nutrition 101 and break down what I believe to be the basics of Micronutrients.
- Micronutrients are defined as Vitamins and Minerals, vital to healthy development, disease prevention, and wellbeing.
- Vitamins: are organic substances that are generally classified as either fat soluble or water soluble.
Fat-Soluble Vitamins are absorbed along with fats in the diet and are stored in the body's fatty tissue and in the Liver.
Water-soluble Vitamins are carried to the body's tissues but are not stored in the body.
- Minerals: are elements in the earth and in food that our bodies need to develop and function normally.
Electrolytes are minerals in your blood and other bodily fluids that carry an electrical charge.
Prebiotic Fiber = MetaMucil
Probiotics = Trace Minerals
Beef Organs = Trace Minerals
